Our Journey: From Vision to Reality
Cheltenham College International School, Kuala Lumpur was established in partnership with Cheltenham College, one of Britain’s leading independent schools with a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, character development and a rich co-curricular tradition. The relationship is a strong and purposeful one, founded on shared values, close collaboration and a commitment to maintaining the highest educational standards.
Cheltenham College was founded in 1841 in the spa town of Cheltenham, England, originally to educate the sons of military officers. Over time, it has grown into a distinguished co-educational boarding and day school, providing education for students aged 3 to 18. It is widely recognised for its strong academic outcomes, breadth of opportunity and commitment to developing well-rounded young people. Its educational philosophy is built upon a balance of intellectual curiosity, creativity, character, community and the pursuit of continuous excellence.
Cheltenham College International School, Kuala Lumpur aims to officially open in September 2026 and is proud to be part of a small and select group of Cheltenham College International Schools worldwide, alongside campus in Oman (Muscat). Through this partnership, we draw upon Cheltenham College’s established heritage while ensuring its values, traditions and educational approach are thoughtfully and authentically interpreted within our Malaysian context.
